Early Life & Background

Timothy Chukwudi Godfrey, widely known as Tim Godfrey, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, music director, and producer. He was born on 26 August 1980 in Kaduna State, Nigeria, though he hails from Abia State.

He is often described as the “Nigerian Kirk Franklin” because of his energetic performances, fusion of contemporary gospel, and urban Christian music.

Music Career

Tim Godfrey began his musical journey officially in 2004 when he founded his gospel music group, Rox Nation / Xtreme Crew. The group became popular for their creative blend of gospel, R&B, hip-hop, and African rhythms.

He rose to prominence with the release of the hit song “Agidigba”, and later gained international acclaim for his collaborations and impactful worship songs.

Tim Godfrey is also the convener of the Fearless Concert, one of the biggest gospel music gatherings in Africa, featuring both Nigerian and international gospel ministers such as Kirk Franklin, Travis Greene, Marvin Sapp, Israel Houghton, and JJ Hairston.
