Dunsin Oyekan – Biography

Early Life & Background

Dunsin Oyekan, popularly called “The Eagle”, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, producer, and music minister known for his deep worship songs. He was born on 5 November 1984 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria.

He is the son of the late Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan, who was the General Overseer of the Baptist Church. His father was also a lover of music and played guitar, a passion he passed on to Dunsin.

Dunsin attended Airforce Nursery and Primary School, Ilorin, and later proceeded to Federal Government College, Ilorin, before studying Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin.

Music Career

Dunsin started playing the guitar at the age of 10. Over the years, he mastered several instruments including the keyboard and drums, and eventually grew into songwriting and music production.

He served as the music director of the choir at The Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), under Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, before going fully into his personal ministry.

In 2016, he released his debut album “Code Red”, which immediately positioned him as a prophetic worship leader with a unique sound. Since then, he has been one of the most respected and followed gospel music ministers in Africa.

He is the convener of The Outpouring, a revival worship meeting that has gathered thousands of believers in worship across nations.
