Stage name: Joyce Blessing
Born May 15 in Accra, Ghana
Raised mostly in Kumasi, Ashanti Region
Early Life & Beginnings
Started singing in church at about age 14
Was part of a band called “See Them Band” in Kumasi, where she honed her live performance skills
Also worked as a backing vocalist for several Ghanaian gospel artists
Music Career & Breakthrough
Began ministry/music recording around 2007 under the name Joyce Tuffuor with her first album Obi Ntu Nyame Fo (“Nobody Advises God”)
Adopted the stage name Joyce Blessing later
Her big break came with the album Heavy Price (2013), especially the song Monko Mo Akyi, which got her wide recognition
Awards & Recognition
Has won multiple gospel music awards in Ghana and abroad
Heavy Price won Best Gospel Album at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in 2014
Known for being awarded in several categories (song of the year, female vocalist, popular video, etc.) over her career
Other Aspects
She set up a foundation/charity that helps deaf and blind people, accident victims, and others in need
At one point, she was signed to Zylofon Music, but later parted ways with that label
Her live performances and stage presence are often praised
