Teni was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. She is the younger sister of singer Niniola. She attended Apata Memorial High School. Later, she went to the United States for further education and earned a degree in Business Administration.

Teni officially began her music career around 2016.

She signed with Magic Fingers Records and released her first single, Amen.

Later she moved to Dr. Dolor Entertainment.

Her breakthrough came in 2018 with hits like Fargin, Case, and Uyo Meyo.
