Early Life & Background
Born on January 20, 1981, in Accra, Ghana.
Father from Bayelsa State, Nigeria; mother Ghanaian. His mother passed away when he was about 13.
Raised in Port Harcourt, Nigeria by his grandmother and aunt, who nurtured his musical interest.
Beginnings in Music
Started singing in church at the age of twelve.
Co-founded a singing group called Purple Love in 2003; the group was active locally until disbanding in 2005.
Won a local talent-hunt contest called G.E FACTO in Port Harcourt.
Rise to Fame
Gained wide recognition after winning Idols West Africa in 2007.
With that win came a recording contract and wider exposure.
Education & Growth
Studied Communications at the University of Port Harcourt.
Later pursued formal training in songwriting with a certificate from Berklee College of Music.
