Full name: Christiana Adwoa Twene (formerly Christiana Love)

Born December 7, in New Suame, Kumasi (Ashanti Region), Ghana

She is the second born among nine siblings

Her parents are Akwesi Twene (father) and Mary Amoah Twene (mother)

She started singing very early; involved in school choirs; her passion was for gospel music from a young age

Music Career

Began professionally around 2002 with her debut album Me Te Ase

She first gained widespread attention with the song “Me Te Ase”

Has released many albums over her career; some include Hyebre Sesafo, Back to the Sender, W’agye Me, Yesom Wyame Otease, Bo Abrabo Pa, among others

Known for powerful voice, expressive worship, and connecting well with both traditional and contemporary gospel audiences

Achievements & Recognition

Won multiple awards including Gospel Artist of the Year (VGMA) and Song of the Year awards

In 2008, she was given a National Honour by President John Kufuor

Celebrated 20 years in the music industry with a concert in 2022

Personal Life

She has been married twice: first to Pastor Love Kweku Hammond (divorced), then to Nana Yaw Frankie

She has children (some from first marriage, some from second)

Apart from her music, she owns a restaurant in Accra named Obaapa Essen

She’s also involved in mentoring young musicians; she started an annual talent search competition called “Sing Like Obaapa (SLOPA)” to help uncover gospel talents
