Born on August 27, 1981 in Lagos, Nigeria.
His family is originally from Ikot Ofon Ikono in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
His father, E. Joshua Bassey, was a minister in the Apostolic Church.
He grew up in a Christian home and had early exposure to church music.
Education
Studied International Relations & Politics at the University of Lagos.
Also pursued some studies in London.
Trained in music: he attended the Middlesex University Summer School to deepen his musical skills.
Music & Ministry Career
He is a singer, trumpeter, worship leader, songwriter, and pastor.
Early in his career, he played trumpet with jazz and orchestral groups (e.g. Steve Rhodes Orchestra, Spectrum 4).
Transitioned into full-time gospel music ministry.
Key Achievements & Projects
He pastors The Oasis, the youth church of the RCCG Kings Court in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Known for creating worship songs that have become widely used in churches, for example Imela, Onise Iyanu, Olowogbogboro.
He launched the #HallelujahChallenge in 2017: a midnight worship and prayer initiative, streamed live, inviting believers globally to join.
