Nosa Biography

Early Life & Education

Nosa Omoregie, popularly known as Nosa (sometimes referred to as Nosa Alile), was born on February 26, 1981, in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He grew up in a Christian family with a deep love for music and joined his church’s children’s choir at an early age. By 1999, he was already writing choir music. Nosa studied Engineering at the University of Benin (UNIBEN) before fully committing to music.

Musical Influences & Style

Nosa’s music is influenced by both gospel and secular sounds. He drew inspiration from gospel greats like Fred Hammond and Kim Burrell, as well as R&B groups like Boyz II Men. He was also influenced by Nigerian Afro-Highlife and contemporary legends such as Sonny Okosun, Onyeka Onwenu, Christy Essien-Igbokwe, and King Sunny Adé.

His style is a fusion of gospel, R&B, soul, jazz, Afro-Highlife, and rock, often blending English and Pidgin English with uplifting and inspirational messages.
