Background & Early Life

Born March 30, 1972, in Afikpo South, Ebonyi State, Nigeria.

She is the second of seven children.

Education: Studied Physics at the University of Port Harcourt.

Music & Ministry Career

Has been active in Christian worship and music ministry since the late 1980s / early 1990s.

Initially part of Christ Embassy Church, where she served as choir member and staff; later developed into a global worship leader and songwriter.

Known for writing songs that are sung globally; over 200 songs to her name.

Hit songs include “Way Maker”, “I Know Who I Am”, “Great Are You Lord”, “The Name of Jesus”, “There’s An Overflow”, “Rejoice”, “He Did It Again”, among others.

Her song “Way Maker” has become a major global worship anthem, covered by many other artists and used in many churches worldwide.

Achievements & Recognition

First African artist to top the Billboard Christian Songwriters chart, and held that position for many consecutive weeks.

Won various awards including Song of the Year awards, and has been honored internationally for her impact in gospel music.

Recognized with honors such as being a voting member of the Grammy Recording Academy, global ambassador roles, etc.

Personal Life

Married to Joseph Egbu since 2014.

They have a daughter named Rhoda.

Also involved in philanthropy: co-founded the Joseph & Sinach Foundation, which does medical outreach, supports people in need, etc.
