Early Life & Beginnings

Grew up singing in church choir as a kid.

Started writing songs as a teenager.

Went to Indiana Bible College where he co-founded the Christian pop band Royal Tailor.

Music Career

With Royal Tailor from ~2004 to 2015, he toured widely, released albums, and gained recognition in the Christian music scene.

After Royal Tailor disbanded, launched a solo career in 2016.

Released an EP Undefeated in 2016; followed by his debut solo album Hills and Valleys in 2017. That album and its songs like “Hills and Valleys” and “Known” became major hits.

Subsequent albums include Citizen of Heaven (2020), Joy in the Morning (2022). Also EPs like Take It All Back (2023).

Style & Achievements

His music combines Christian pop, R&B, gospel, and elements of hip-hop.

He has many #1 singles on Christian radio. Songs like Known, Famous For (I Believe), God’s Not Done With You, Hills and Valleys are some of his biggest hits.

Multiple Grammy nominations. Also Dove Awards and other major recognitions in Christian music.

Ministry & Other Ventures

Besides music, Tauren and his wife are involved in ministry. They founded Prisma Worship Arts School, which trains young music and worship talent.

In recent years, he became a lead pastor at a church in Austin, Texas.

Personal Life

Married to Lorna Wells since about 2011.

They have four sons.

His music and ministry are family-oriented; faith plays a big role in his life choices.
