Nathaniel Bassey was born on August 27, 1981, in Lagos, Nigeria.

Originally from Ikot Ofon Ikono in Akwa Ibom State.

He’s a gospel singer, songwriter, pastor, music producer, and an accomplished trumpeter.

He pastors The Oasis, the youth church of RCCG Kings Court in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Early Life & Education

He grew up in a Christian home; his father, E. Joshua Bassey, was a minister in the Apostolic Church.

He studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Lagos, then continued studies in London.

He also attended music training (including at Middlesex University Summer School) to build musical skills.

Musical Journey

Started out playing trumpet, was with Steve Rhodes Orchestra and other ensembles.

His debut album Elohim came out in 2008, recorded in Cape Town, South Africa.

Over time he shifted more into worship/gospel, blending his instrumental (trumpet) background with vocal ministry.
