Full Name: Tedashii Lavoy Anderson

Early Life & Conversion

Tedashii was born in Lufkin, Texas, on March 8, 1977. He grew up in a religious background, but it was while he was in college that he fully embraced the Christian faith. Before that, he had been more spiritually searching. His conversion shaped much of what his music would later be about: honesty, struggle, redemption, and a life lived in pursuit of purpose.

Music Career & Ministry

He is a founding member of 116 Clique, the Christian rap collective associated with Reach Records.

He released his first solo album in 2006, Kingdom People. Since then, he has put out several more albums: Identity Crisis, Blacklight, Below Paradise, Never Fold, among others.

A major turning point was the loss of his one-year-old son. That painful experience influenced his album Below Paradise, which reflects his grief, struggle, and faith in God through suffering.

Tedashii is known for taking personal life experience—both the highs and the lows—and weaving them into his music. He speaks about grief, identity, mental health, and faith in a way that connects with many listeners.
