Full Name

Mercy Nnenda Chinwo (also known as Mercy Chinwo-Blessed)

Early Life & Education

Born on September 5, 1990 in Rivers State, Nigeria

Started singing in her church’s children’s choir from around age 6

Finished primary school at Goodwill International School, and secondary school at Paradise International School

Studied Human Resources Management at the International Business Management Institute (IBMI)

Rise to Fame & Career Breakthroughs

In 2012, participated in Nigerian Idol (Season 2) and won, which gave her national visibility

Released her first single, Testimony, in 2015

In 2017 she signed with the gospel label EeZee Conceptz

Her 2018 song Excess Love became a major hit and helped establish her in the gospel scene

Married to Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa on August 13, 2022

In 2023, they welcomed their first child
