Early Life & Background

Full name: Oluwadunsin Joshua Oyekan

Born: November 5, 1984 in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria

Father: Pastor Gbadebo Oyekan, who led the Evangelical Baptist Church and was involved in music through a group called Spiritual Singers

From childhood, Dunsin was exposed to music; he started playing guitar at about age 10, and later learned keyboard, drums and other instruments

Schooling: Attended Airforce Nursery & Primary School, Baptist Model High School, Federal Government College (Ilorin), and later studied Industrial Chemistry at the University of Ilorin

Music & Ministry Calling

Though he studied a secular course, Dunsin’s heart was in worship from early on. In 2014, he answered a full-time call into worship ministry

He served in church choirs, was a music director (notably for the “Avalanche” choir at COZA), and ministered in various church platforms before gaining wider recognition

Style & Vision

Nicknamed “The Eagle”

His style is characterized by deep worship, prophetic lyrics, spontaneous and extended worship sessions, and songs meant to usher in spiritual encounters rather than just entertainment

He leads worship through both music and word, and values intimacy with God, atmospheric worship, and spiritual transformation

Personal Life & Challenges

Married Adedoyin Oyekan on February 2, 2013; they had two children

Sadly, his wife Adedoyin passed away on May 18, 2019

The experience has been part of his journey, informing some of his worship, testimony, and depth with God
