Personal Background

Born on 23 September 1977 in Nyenga, Buikwe District, Uganda.

Parents are the Mukooza family.

She attended Nalinya Lwantale Primary School in Luweero District, then Ndejje Senior School for O-Level, Iganga Secondary School for A-Level.

Graduated from Makerere University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism.

Music Career

Started music work in her secondary school days; composed her school anthems at Ndejje and Iganga.

Her debut song was Beera Nange (2006), which won Best Gospel Single at the Pearl of Africa Music Awards.

She has many popular songs including Wambatira, Omusaayi gwa Yesu, Ekitibwa kyo Mukama, Maama, Nzijukira, among others.

Multiple albums over the years, including Beera Nange (2006), Yesu Asobola (2007), Nzijukira (2008), Wanjagala (2011).

More recent work includes songs from an album titled Enjegere Zikutuka / Chains Be Broken (released or to be launched around 2024). Songs from that include Enjegere Zikutuka, Obaddewo Yesu, Erinnya Eddungi, Ndi Kumavivi.

Ministry & Politics

She is a senior pastor at New Life Deliverance Church, located in Makindye Division, Kampala.

Served as Women’s Constituency Member of Parliament for Buikwe District in Uganda (2016-2021).

Used her platform to advocate for women’s rights, children’s welfare, and social issues.

Personal Life & Challenges

Her first marriage was with Samuel Niiwo; the marriage had one daughter. They separated and she filed for divorce around 2017 citing various issues.

Later married Paul Musoke Ssebulime in 2018. That marriage also ended (around 2019-2020).

She has publicly spoken about suffering from gender-based violence in her earlier life, and about mental health struggles (including depression, anxiety, panic attacks) following those experiences.

Relocated to Canada, where she currently lives.

Recent Education & Developments

In 2024 she attained a master’s degree in Immigration Studies.

She continues to release music, with some of her recent tracks from Enjegere Zikutuka already out.
