Sinach – Biography

Early Life and Background

Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu, popularly known as Sinach, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. She was born on March 30, 1972, in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. Raised in a Christian family, Sinach grew up passionate about God and music.

Education

She studied Physics at the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Despite her academic path, she pursued her gift of music, which later became her life’s calling.

Music Career

Sinach began her music career as a member of the choir at Christ Embassy Church (Loveworld Nation) under Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Over time, she rose to become the church’s senior worship leader, ministering to millions through live services, concerts, and recordings.

She gained international recognition with her hit song This Is Your Season (2008), which won the Song of the Year at the Loveworld Music Awards.

Her song Way Maker (2015) became a global anthem, covered by numerous international artists and translated into multiple languages. It has been sung in churches worldwide and was listed among the top worship songs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
