Biography of Nii Okai

Full Name: Ernest Nii-Okai Okai

Date of Birth: September 19, 1977

Origin: Tema, Ghana

Genre: Contemporary Gospel

Early Life & Education

He attended Mfantsipim School in Cape Coast, Ghana, then went on to study at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.

Later, he earned a Master of Arts in Mission and Theology.

Music & Ministry Career

Nii Okai is the co-founder of Harbour City Mass Choir, an inter-denominational music ministry based in Tema, focused on youth outreach, worship, church music development and social programs.

His breakthrough came with his first album titled Moko Be, which included hit tracks such as “Woana Na” and “Moko Be.”

Other albums he has released include Worshipful, Hymnz Unlimited, Holy Writings, Saving Hearts, Yesu Hi, and Revealing Jesus.

He has also released several singles, performed live, and led worship events.

Other Roles & Personal Life

He is the pastor of International House of Virtue (the iChurch) in Tema.

Nii Okai holds roles in church-planting, speaking, event coordination, creative and worship arts direction, mentoring younger artists, and charity work.

Married to Yaa Okai, they have three children.
