Full Name: Nathaniel Bassey

Professions: Gospel musician, pastor, trumpeter, worship leader, songwriter, music producer

Early Life & Education

He was born into a Christian family; his father served as a minister.

From a young age, he was deeply involved in music and worship in church.

He studied International Relations and Politics at the University of Lagos, and later continued studies in London.

To develop his musical craft, he also attended a summer school program in music.

Music Journey & Ministry

Nathaniel started out playing the trumpet and performing with jazz and orchestral groups, such as Spectrum 4 and the Steve Rhodes Orchestra.

Over time, he transitioned fully into gospel ministry and worship music.

He has released several albums, many of which have become widely used in church worship.

Some of his well-known songs include Imela, Onise Iyanu, and Olowogbogboro.

Major Projects & Impact

He initiated the Hallelujah Challenge, an online midnight worship movement, which draws thousands globally.

He serves as pastor at The Oasis Lagos, which is part of his church’s youth ministry.

Through his music, ministry, and teaching, he focuses not only on musical excellence but also on spiritual depth, mentorship, and equipping others in worship.

He is married to Sarah Bassey and they have children.
