You Say lyrics - Lauren Daigle

You Say lyrics - Lauren Daigle

...

i keep fighting voices in my mind that say am not enough............

every sungle lie that tell me i will never measure up...........

am i more than just the sum of every high and every low...........

remind me once again just who i am because i need to know..............

uuuuuu ooh

chrs

you say iam loved

when i can't feel a thing

you say i am stong

when i think i am weak

you say i am held

when i am falling short

and when i don't belong

you say i am yours and i believe

????

i believe ??

what you say of me ???

i believe

the only thing that now

is everything you think of me

in u i find my worth, in i find my indentity

????

chrs

taking all i have

and now am laying it

at your feet

you'll have every failure God

you'll have every victory

chrs

Early Life & Background
Lauren Ashley Daigle was born on September 9, 1991, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, USA. She grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana, in an environment rich with zydeco, blues, and Cajun music. When she was about 15, she contracted an illness that kept her out of formal school for nearly two years; during that time she was homeschooled. Music became her solace and outlet. She sang in church choir, and later led choir at Louisiana State University while studying Child and Family Studies.
Rise to Musical Career
Lauren auditioned for American Idol in 2010 and again in 2012. Though she didn’t advance far on the show, the experience helped hone her skills. After submitting vocal demos, she was signed by Centricity Music in 2013. She released her EP How Can It Be in 2014, which set the stage for her full debut album of the same name in 2015.
Albums & Notable Work
How Can It Be (2015) — her debut studio album, which included hit singles such as “First,” “Trust in You,” and “O'Lord.”
Behold: A Christmas Collection (2016) — a holiday-themed album.
Look Up Child (2018) — gained crossover appeal, especially with the single “You Say,” which became a defining track in her career.
Lauren Daigle (2023) — a self-titled album released in two parts; includes “Thank God I Do” among its tracks.
Style & Themes
Lauren Daigle’s voice is often described as smoky, rich, and expressive. Her music is primarily in the Contemporary Christian genre, but she brings influences from blues, soul, and pop. Her lyrics focus on faith, identity, hope, gratitude, and emotional honesty—often addressing life’s struggles and God’s faithfulness.
Achievements & Recognition
Several apps and charts have acknowledged her albums reaching No. 1 on Christian charts, and Look Up Child broke into mainstream charts as well.
She has won multiple awards, including Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and GMA Dove Awards.
Her song “You Say” achieved wide recognition and maintained a long run at No. 1 on Christian music charts.
Recent Highlights
In 2023, her self-titled album made waves and produced chart-topping singles.
She performed “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl in 2025, another milestone performance.
