Early Life & Background
Chidinma Ekile was born on May 2, 1991, in Ketu, Lagos State, but she hails from Imo State, Nigeria. She grew up in a Christian home, the sixth of seven children. At the age of 10, she began singing in her church choir, developing her vocal skill and passion for music.
Education
Chidinma attended primary and secondary school in Lagos before studying Mass Communication at the University of Lagos.
Career & Music Journey
Chidinma first rose to fame as the winner of MTN Project Fame West Africa (Season 3) in 2010, a music reality TV show that launched her into the spotlight.
She initially pursued a career in secular/afro-pop music, releasing hit singles such as Kedike and Emi Ni Baller, which made her a household name.
However, in May 2021, Chidinma shocked fans when she announced her transition to gospel music. She revealed that she had been called to focus fully on music ministry and signed under EeZee Conceptz Global, the same label that houses Mercy Chinwo and Judikay.
Her debut gospel single, “Jehovah Overdo”, marked her official entry into gospel music. Since then, she has consistently released songs that emphasize worship, grace, and God’s love.
