Early Life & Background

Tope Alabi was born on 27 October 1970 in Lagos State, Nigeria, but hails from Yewa, Ogun State. From a young age, she developed a love for music and drama. She joined a theatre group, where she gained experience in acting and stage performance before fully transitioning into gospel music.

Her early involvement in the Yoruba movie industry shaped her unique style of music, which often blends traditional Yoruba folk sounds with Christian gospel messages.

Music Career

Tope Alabi is regarded as one of Nigeria’s most influential gospel artists, especially in the Yoruba-speaking community.

She gained national recognition in the early 2000s with her breakthrough album Ore ti o Common.

Known as the “Queen of Yoruba Gospel,” she has composed and performed soundtracks for numerous Yoruba movies, making her a household name.

Over the years, she has released many albums and singles that continue to inspire millions of listeners.
